Simple job to replace broken latch set.
Except when the bar is half inch shorter than than old one.
And the old one won't fit on the new handle without a fight.
And then the circlip holding it unseats (that's the thin circular bit in the middle and it's not supposed to be there, well not like that)
And then you get it back together again only to find it's never going to work because....
Oh sod it, despair has set in again and I can't be arsed explaining any more.
Tomorrow is another day and I've had a new idea how to fix it.
That won't work either.
